Just at the end of Pier 4/5, this drop-in space will be popular with youngsters (particularly those aged 5 to 12) who enjoy bookish activities, live drawing, storytelling and craft workshops. All ages are welcome and entry is free (no bookings required).

Casula Powerhouse's Robot Lab
What kind of robot would you like to invent? Come along and turn recycled materials into your own unique robot. A special workshop session with robot expert James Foley (writer and illustrator of Brobot) will be held from 10am-12pm.
The Travel Bug's Club
Step into the picture book world of The Travel Bug with author Benjamin Gilmour and illustrator James Gulliver Hancock. Create your own bug diorama and add it to Travel Bug land, the perfect place for taking selfies. Come along to a Travel Bug workshop and find out how picture books are put together, including character and page design, from 10.30-11.30am and 2.30-3.30pm.
The Colour and Craft Depot
No need to stay between the lines at our colour and craft depot. Kids are encouraged to let their creativity run wild with coloured pencils, paper, book activity sheets and crafty bits. Special sessions include: Under the Love Umbrella 10-10.30am, Doodle Cat 11-11.30am, Word Hunters 1-1.30pm.
Crinkling Press Room
STOP THE PRESS! Crinkling News and Sydney Writers' Festival are calling all budding reporters and book reviewers! Spend some time at our writing station and pop a review of a session you've seen or a book you've read into the box. Winning entries will be published in Crinkling News after the Festival. Make sure you keep an eye out for the roving junior reporters at Family Day — you may even get interviewed by them!
