Indonesia is one of our nearest neighbours, yet despite many Australians making a regular pilgrimage to Bali, the country is something of a blank. Distinguished Indonesian columnist, broadcaster and journalist Desi Anwar talks to ABC’s Emma Alberici about her remarkable homeland. The author of several books, including Being Indonesian, Desi offers a unique perspective on life at the top of Indonesian journalism and offers insights into the country’s labyrinthine national politics.
