According to The New York Times, ‘Joy Williams might be the writer’s writer’. She is the award-winning author of four novels and five collections of stories. Joy comes to the Festival bearing her latest work, Ninety-Nine Stories of God, a collection of micro fiction exploring interactions with an ever-elusive and arbitrary God. The characters in the 99 vignettes range from Kafka to the Aztecs, O.J. Simpson and a pack of wolves. Joy is in conversation with ABC RN’s Kate Evans.
