Roanna Gonsalves passionately argues for the radical yet ancient need we have to tell our own stories – taking a selfie with literature. In these troubling times, when space for those with little privilege seems to be shrinking across the world, Roanna discusses how the selfie (with its focus on ‘presencing’, agency and connections to history) provides a unique way to talk about writing. Roanna is the author of The Permanent Resident, short stories about Indians in Australia.
