Beloved journalist and presenter Annabel Crabb returns to the Festival for BooKwiz, a thorough interrogation of some well-known readers, including ABC 7.30 anchor Leigh Sales, Conversations presenter Richard Fidler and – lending cult appeal – the RocKwiz host herself, Julia Zemiro.

Leigh Sales anchors the ABC’s flagship current affairs program, 7.30. In that role, she has interviewed many world leaders and celebrities, including Hillary Clinton, Tony Blair, Aung San Suu Kyi and the Dalai Lama. She is a multiple Walkley Award-winner and the author of two books, Detainee 002 and On Doubt. From 2001-2006, she was the ABC’s Washington Correspondent. She co-hosts a podcast, Chat 10 Looks 3, with Annabel Crabb, canvassing everything from literature to television to politics.

Richard Fidler (Australian)

Richard Fidler is the author of Ghost Empire: the story of his journey to Istanbul with his son Joe, to uncover the history of the lost civilisation of Byzantium. Richard is also the presenter of Conversations with Richard Fidler on ABC Radio. The Conversations podcast is the most downloaded show in Australia. In another life, he was a member of Australian comedy trio The Doug Anthony Allstars (DAAS), which played to audiences all over the world.

Julia Zemiro (Australian)

French born-Australian, Julia Zemiro is best known for her work as host of the long-running SBS hit TV program RocKwiz. Julia’s theatre, film and television work spans all genres from drama to comedy, improvisation to hosting. Julia hosts her own show, Julia Zemiro’s Home Delivery for the ABC, now in its sixth series. Recently she completed filming the Australian comedy feature film, The BBQ.

Annabel Crabb (Australian)

Annabel Crabb is one of Australia's most beloved journalists. She is a writer and broadcaster for the ABC, writes a weekly opinion column for Fairfax, is the author of the bestselling book The Wife Drought and is a sought-after speaker and presenter. As host of the ABC's enormously popular series Kitchen Cabinet, Annabel has broken bread with Australia's most influential political leaders and shared her magnificent desserts in kitchens around the country. She broadcasts a top-rating podcast (Chat10 Looks3) with friend and colleague Leigh Sales and her latest book is Special Delivery, a cookbook with Wendy Sharpe.
