In an event pitched by poet and novelist Eileen Myles as a discussion of “the most dumb, predictable and offensive ways I've been invited to write for journals in order to attract publicity to my work”, the influential writer of some 20 books delivers an electrifying lecture about writing, gender and expectation. “Are men asked to write about sex?” Eileen inquires. “I think the woman is asked to write about sex because they think it will entertain men.” This promises to be a Festival event like no other.
